Conference Panel: 2019 Burns & Levinson Cannabis Conference - State Of The Cannabis Industry

On October 23, 2019, I spoke on a panel at the 3rd annual Burns & Levinson Cannabis Conference in Massachusetts. The panel was about the current state of the cannabis industry at the national and state level, and hit on a range of topics from social equity and delivery licenses, to the best strategies for companies seeking to grow to a national scale. I also shared some of my latest thoughts on cannabis policy, such as how blue states are quicker to legalize cannabis but regulate it more tightly, while red states are slower to legalize but regulate it less strictly once it’s legal. It was fun to present with Greg Huffaker, who is on the NCIA State Regulations Committee with me and who I’ve been on panels with before, as well as Jason and Katrina, who were new co-panelists to me.
