money

Money: few subjects touch so many parts of our lives while being so misunderstood. At its core, money is simply a representation of resources, and economics is the study of how those resources are distributed and managed. But millennia of trading, minting, and regulating have added layers of complexity. Money is simultaneously a tangible item you can hold and count, and an abstract concept heavy with meaning. And when it comes to even more abstract concepts like capitalism, it seems everyone has their own definition, creating avoidable misunderstandings and needless conflict.

In this section, I’ll be writing about all things money. This includes business-oriented items like the cannabis industry and driverless vehicles, broad economic trends like automation and migration, economic debates like socialism vs. capitalism, and ways of organizing our economy like co-operative enterprises and a universal basic income.
