TV Interview: Hearing Held On Legal Recreational Use Of Marijuana In Connecticut
In March 2018, the Connecticut state legislature’s Joint Committee on General Law held a hearing on HB 5458, a bill to regulate marijuana like alcohol. As the director of the Connecticut Coalition to Regulate Marijuana, I was at the legislature organizing fellow advocates and testifying in support of the bill.
I was interviewed by NBC Connecticut for a segment on their morning news. Watch the full video (1:48) here:
My full statement: "In Massachusetts, sales are going to be starting right over our border this July. Anyone who's 21 or older, even with a Connecticut license, is going to be able to purchase marijuana very soon. And also, Vermont — they actually became the first state legislature to pass legalization, just in January, so we've got a lot of momentum behind us and I think that the legislature's paying more attention.”
